About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To drive across Europe to Croatia

ABOUT ME

I am the happiest when I am travelling. I am the most content when I'm living out of my little backpack. My most lasting memories are of the people I have met along the way. This year I mostly want to swim with the fish, dive into nature and learn new things from the most interesting people in the world! I look up to people who are in touch with the Earth, know how to enjoy life and live their own way.

If any of you fellow travellers would be kind enough to let me stay with you for a couple of days this summer I would be eternally grateful and I'm sure we will have some adventures!
I can help with English. I can teach you everything you need to know about London having lived there for 4 years. I can cook reasonably well (fish is my favourite) and I'm very tidy and clean so I'll keep your place nice. I am very willing to help with anything you wish around the house or garden.

A bit more about me then. I'm just going into my 4th year of Medicine at Kings College London to become a doctor. At the moment I am most interested in Cardiology(heart), surgery in particular. I am originally from a small country town in the North of England so I am a country girl at "heart". I am very open to new things and experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

"What you are not able to do today, with hard work, can be achieved tomorrow"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I live in a one bed flat. I have had many people stay with me in London particularly friends that I have met along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some amazing experiences! I was kindly hosted by many people over the past two summers. I've never had so many adventures in such a short period of time. I will never forget the days I spent with them and many I speak to regularly and see as my close friends.

Interests

I like to read. One of my favourite books is The Beach and I think it was the first one I read (numerous times). This book inspired me to travel to Thailand where I spent Christmas 2013. For months before, we researched and discovered the most remote and untouched parts of Thailand. Although they were much more difficult to get to than the usual tourist hubs, the places we visited represented true Thailand. For instance, Christmas day was spent on the most beautiful island camping with only 7 other travellers, the park rangers family and the local wildlife which included giant monitor lizards.
Other experiences in 2014 include a scooter tour of the South West coast of Portugal, a 1000 mile 3 day journey of 6 countries and a camping adventure to Cornwall.

When travelling another interest is obviously the local foods. I will enjoy eating anything but I love vegetables/fruits and all fish I have tried so far.

I like to run, cycle, swim, yoga, kayak, snorkel, climb and generally keep active. My sister and dad play and coach football.

I have recently been interested in the Dalai Lama's work; 'When asked what surprised him most about humanity, he answered Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived'.

I have a tattoo of an African elephant on my inside ankle. Its simple but beautiful. My reasons at the time were that elephants are clever and never forget, they never leave an elephant behind and are very family orientated, their vegetarian and cause no harm. I've been to see the elephants of Sri Lanka but I decided on an African elephant because I think they are more beautiful!

I have had a reasonably quiet life in the country so I am drawn and excited by all new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all genres of music and films, only disliking horror movies. Zombies are scary.

See above but I'm sure there is more I can help with. I am excited to learn anything new if you are willing to teach.
