About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The only way to keep living is to keep learning.

ABOUT ME

I started out in upstate New York, and moved to Arizona to complete my childhood. Upon graduating high school, I took off for an amazing year in Argentina with the Rotary Youth Exchange. That year introduced me not only to a love for traveling but also to who I want to become. I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, and studied one travel-filled year in Germany. I'm now in Uganda for 27 months of volunteer health service for Peace Corps!

I'm easy-going, energetic, and optimistic. I'm often torn between wanting to be outdoorsy, dirty, and nature-loving and wanting to be put-together, sophisticated, and girly, although in Uganda the former always wins. When I feel comfortable with someone, my silly/goofy/clumsy side comes out, and I like it. I'm pretty scatterbrained and spacey and clumsy, but I try to convince myself and others that it is endearing. I'm not sure what I plan to do with the rest of my life, but for now that is okay, because I am enjoying it.

PHILOSOPHY

My goal, I guess, is to have a positive impact on the world I live in now so that it (the world) can continue on beyond my life/future. To do this, I am working on making myself into the person I want to become and dedicating some of my life to improving those of others. I want to spread understanding, consideration, and respect among people of the same and different backgrounds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just returning to the CS world after a bad experience and then just a lack of anything permanent in my life. Well, I still don't have much that is permanent, but now I'm a foreigner again and I thought that I should try this CS world again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a few couches, hosted a couple. After one not-so-great experience, I swore it off while I traveled alone as a woman. Looking to get back into it eventually, maybe a little be choosier this time around.

Interests

Travel, languages and their effect, culture, silly sports (broomball and innertube waterpolo, anyone?), the internet and how it has changed our world, storytime, brains, people.
