About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making it.

ABOUT ME

I'm French but grew up in the US so I've basically been split between two cultures all my life. I think this makes me more open to different cultures and I identify well with people seeking to broaden their minds.

PHILOSOPHY

I thrive to "enjoy the moment" - but it's really hard sometimes. And I try not to judge, everyone has their personal issues.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm pretty independent and travel a lot on my own (most of my friends are scattered around the globe so it's hard to find an available traveling buddy). I've hosted and been a couchsurfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing is my favorite way to travel, I've met great people, seen cities through different eyes and have had a ton of fun. Since I take CS seriously it's a lot of work (I spend a lot of time planning my next CS adventure, looking through profiles and writing the perfect couchrequest) but it's definitely worth it.

Interests

I like art (especially movies), food (obviously), reading and traveling. My parents got me addicted to traveling when I was a kid and we'd drive around the US in our car.

I can be the stay-at-home-with-a-book type or total party girl. Life has actually taught me to adapt to any situation and I'm open to any new experience.
I try to be up to date with what's going on in the world. I listen to the BBC every morning and am a subscriber of The Economist and the FT.

Music, Movies, and Books

Almost Famous by Cameron Crowe is my all time favorite movie, I also love Animal Kingdom, True Grit, All That Jazz, La Belle et La Bête, Belle de Jour, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Eclipse by Michaelangelo Antonioni, Kill Bill and Death Proof by Tarantino, just to name a few. The last two movies I saw that blew my mind were Tale of Tales and Everybody Wants Some.

Favorite albums: "Born to Run" - Bruce Springsteen; "Let It Bleed" - Rollingstones; "Lungs" - Florence and the Machine; "Raising Sands" - Robert Plant and Allison Kraus; "Rock'n'roll" - Ryan Adams;

To name all the books I love would take too long (I am a litterature student after all) but To Kill A Mockingbird is my favorite and I love anything by Murakami, Toni Morrison, Zola, McCarthy and J.P. Sartre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done two wonderful internships in fashion houses before realizing the fashion world was wako and I wasn't ready to work there.

Seven years ago I was invited by a friend to go to Pasto, Colombia to teach english to handicaped children. We stayed in a nunery and lived accross a drug lord's house (two blocks away from the police station). I kept meeting people who had lost a loved one in drug wars or been randomly killed in the street but they stayed very positive about life, opened up their homes to strangers and were just incredible. After growing up in a country where everyone complains all the time I was amazed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spent most of my life figuring out the differences and similarities between French and American cultures so I would love to have a discussion with anyone about this. I can also teach you how to make crêpes and I love to cook. I know how to sew, to play soccer and speak english and french like a native.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories of Couchsurfing! Movie and book recommendations (but only if asked). I can also cook and I usually have good present ideas.
