ABOUT ME
I am from the States originally, but I am currently teaching English in Warsaw. I write, sing, and explore, and I love live music.
PHILOSOPHY
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoyed surfing couches many years ago throughout Europe, and I met some incredible and welcoming people. I've been living abroad for the past few years, so I haven't been able to host, but I am still interested in meeting locals and seeing the "real" parts of cities.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first couch-surfed in Porto, and it was totally unexpected-I sat in the wrong seat on a train and the seat owner, Leandro, was a couch-surfer who invited me to stay with him. He turned my short visit into a magical and lovely experience, and I will never forget his interesting stories and unexpected generosity.
I also couchsurfed in Strasbourg, France with Karim, and we biked into Germany and saw a beautiful light show on the river.
Finally, I surfed with Carlos, who hosted a wild group in Calella for couch surfers. It was so wild, I forgot a pair of my shoes there, but he sent them to me in the USA afterward ;-)
On the whole, couchsurfing provides unique and unexpected experiences as well as a human connection away from home--it's the best way to travel!

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots, lots! I love jam sessions and live music. I write songs, and I love environments that appreciate and encourage that. I like a lot of old folk, blues, jazz, rock, and especially the singer-songwriters.
I like movies, but typically not popular ones.
I love to read, but I am a slow reader. I've been working my way through the classics, and I have also picked up a number of books written in or about the places I've travelled, so those are on my list too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I performed my songs on Cambodian radio.
