About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Learning Japanese, moving to Japan soon (March 2023). Doing the English teaching thing again.

ABOUT ME

I have spent most of my life learning foreign languages because I have always been interested in other countries and cultures.

I tend to be a bit shy when first meeting people, but once I feel comfortable or feel I can trust someone, I can just be myself. one of my main goals in life is to learn to be more open with people so I can make more connections with people, and I think Couchsurfing is a good way to do that. I think that the more you give of yourself to people, the more they will give back, and everyone stands to gain from that.

I taught English in Korea for 15 months and then I traveled around Southeast Asia for 5 months.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn, explore, focus on what's really important in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed in Nizhny Novogorod, Russia and it was a great experience. Other than that, I have used couchsurfing to meet up with lots of cool people in different countries.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I initially got an account here to find people to speak Russian with while I was studying Russian in Moscow.

I couchsurfed for the first time while visiting nizhny novgorod and it was an amazing experience. completely changed the way I think about people, traveling, the world, and so many other things! :)

I also couchsurfed in Jakarta, Indonesia and Penang, Malayisa. I saw local things that I never would have on my own and met some great people at the same time.

Interests

as long as i can remember, my greatest interest has been to visit and learn about other countries and other ways of life. i also really love studying languages.

also: russia, literature, riding bikes, yoga, pop culture, traveling, meeting new people and learning about their lives, good conversation
