ABOUT ME

I'm quiet and discrete. Let's just say, I just won't be the loudest person in the room. I'm passionate about my work, and a host (haha) of other things (see below). Generally very sweet and down to earth (or so thay say). I love trying out new things. It's how I got into longboarding and rock climbing, among other things.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe I'm a live and let live type of person. I try to be as eco-responsible as possible, and advocate in that sense. I also have feminist interests at heart, and defend them when issues arise. I'm not the confrontation type in the slightest, but I will defend my principles in a diplomatic manner :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted once so far, and surfed once as well! I've also met and hung out with couchsurfers in my hometown. Would love to have the opportunity to both host and surf more.

Intereses

I'm very passionate about my work (I shadow autistic children and adults), and take every opportunity I have of working with these individuals. In my free time, I enjoy gardening (I volunteer at a community garden and I try to make my balcony as plant-friendly as possible), and reading. I love to ride my bicycle, it's my main means of transportation around the city. For shorter rides I use my longboard, or I walk. I enjoy cafés and pubs and what we call "terrasse" (drinking at a pub, but outdoors?). I'm also a movie and tv series person, we have Netflix. When I can I foster dogs from the SPCA who need a home for a short period of time. I won't say no to an art exhibit from time to time either. I enjoy going to music concerts and festivals, they may be the reason of my travel. Like many others, I enjoy travelling. I'm more an outdoor-sy traveller, I'll prefer camping and exploring the wilderness than the city.

Música, películas y libros

For music, I mostly enjoy folk, though some indie rock is fun to listen to as well. My main band is The Decemberists. I've seen the BLack Keys a few times in concert, as well as Kasabian, Morcheeba, Jake Bugg, Broken Bells, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Passion Pit, Yan Thiersen, Bonobo, Death Cab for Cutie and many others. I also enjoy old French romantic singers from the sixties, like Charles Aznavour, Georges Bressens, Jacques Brel and the like. For books, I'm all about fiction, although I am getting more and more into philosophical texts. I enjoyed the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy in five parts. I enjoy authors such as Daniel Pennac, Chistian Babin, Boris Vian, Eugene Ionesco, Alessandro Baricco, Paulo Coelho, James Herriott, and many others.

I traveled to northern Canada to see aurora borealis, I strongly recommend witnessing that phenomenon at least once in your lifetime!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I know a lot about Montreal, and about the province of Quebec in general. I know some about beer (and a lot about beer places in Montreal). I can teach you to longboard. And I can show you my garden. Also, basic Quebec Sign Language is fun to learn. I also know some cool camping tricks.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I love to bake, so cookies are pretty much guaranteed :)
