ABOUT ME
Hey, I'm sarah originally from the UK and have been traveling since 2010! I'm abit of a freespirit, have the travel bug and love exploring the world. I lived in Australia for a year, travelled around and worked in various places - returned back to the UK and travelled South America, some of Europe, south africa and Then I felt Sydney was calling me back so returned on my second visa via the long way round - San francisco, Auckland -bay of islands- back to Sydney. I went on a Thailand, Bali and Malaysia trip during my time in Sydney and then left on my Work Holiday Visa for NZ. I have lived and worked over here for a year in Wellington and Queenstown as well as traveling both islands on a. few roadtrips- and after a little holiday in Sydney I am back in the land of the long white cloud! Currently in Waiheke Island for at least 3 months living and working here.
I love deep and meaningful conversations and enjoy meeting people from around the globe...I enjoy music and I'm a sucker a good inspirational quote!! Love anything creative, arty/musical and good bantar!
PHILOSOPHY
"Travellers don't know where there going, tourists don't know where they've been...."
"Not all those who wander are lost..."
"Life is like a book, and those who do not travel read only one page...."
I have lately been realising that life is not a destination but a Journey, and that I - like a lot of people put far too much effort worrying about the future instead of enjoying the present moment. Life is made up of moments and sometimes all the pieces of the puzzle haven't been completed yet so we must have patience.... this is something I am learning at the moment!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't host atm but I am looking to surf
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My Couch surfing experience has led to me making lots of friends and meeting lovely like minded people. I feel it is a safe way of meeting people who are traveling alone or wanting advice and its a great way to pay it forward and share experiences.
I have mainly used couch surfing to meet people and to enjoy sharing travel experiences with people when traveling as a single person. I have also couchsurfed and found that the experiences I have had have all been positive and this is because I have taken the time to read references and get a feel for whether it would be a good fit - from reading their profile!
I recently couchsurfed in Sydney with a great family and spent the week feeling like I was at home :) Such a lovely experience and one I wouldn't have had staying in a hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books
Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Sophie's Choice,
All Paulo Cohelo Books- The Alchemist for sure! I am trying to read more books more quickly and want to learn so much more about all the subjects I am interested in.... want to study again!
Love all kinds of music, alternative in particular, can't beat live bands or acoustic guitar but I love pop and cheese and anything that makes me sing, dance or feel happy or moves me in some way!
Movies- if it brings out an emotion it's a good movie!
Recently watched Nightcrawler, Whiplash-both intense films! Love all genres, can't beat a good comedy and a romcom but I love thrillers too! I am very open minded to lots of films.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can definitely help new travellers as I feel I have a lot of guidance I could offer them and would more than happily give you tips if you are starting out traveling and also single females who need some courage or help.
Travel teaches you a lot of things, and one very important lesson is to follow your intuition - listen to your gut!
Travel does broaden the mind and also it makes really random things happen at moments you didn't see coming- sometimes you have to go with the flow and realise that these moments will never come again so just do it!!!
