About Me

CURRENT MISSION

last big backpacking trip - Peru&Bolivia- before starting my student teaching in Germany

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and cannot imagine how I could ever have lived without exploring new places, people, languages, cultures! If I have to put it into words, I'd say I am adventourous, caring, sometimes funny (if you can deal with some German irony:P), and talkative, though slighty shy when first meeting new ppl- so gimme some minutes to warm up- and soon you'll see that I can become a little crazy from time to time :D

PHILOSOPHY

So, yes, gonna be a teacher as you can see in my favourite quote below...Travelling/ hosting other travellers is just an amazing opportunity to keep on learning more and more- about others, but also about yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am not a member of any CS groups, but whenever I can, I offer my place as host, and whenever I need a place to stay, I ask for it:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I both surfed (Iceland and Canada) and hosted (Australia)- now I hope to surf some couches together with my bf in Spain, Peru and Lima

Interests

travelling & meeting new people, being outdoors, hiking/trekking, a good book, watching sunset & sunrise while lying in a tent &eating oatmeal:P, and the feeling of having made a change to someone's life/ having created a good memory :)

Music, Movies, and Books

hard one...especially with books, but I'm gonna give it a try and give some of my favs/lately read one's:
3 Cups of Tea, Waiting for Snow in Havanna, Around the World in 80 Days, everything by Eric Carle (yes, gonna be a PS teacher...:D), The Unbearable Lightness of Being, To Kill a Mockinbird, Slaughterhouse 5, anything by Chuck Palahniuk...and...and...and

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the experiencing of the feeling of "you made it" to see this beautiful place only by means of using your own feet, e.g. getting a full view on the Rockwall, Canada, or the Markha Valley trail in Jammu/Kashmir, India :)

Teach, Learn, Share

“I regard it as the foremost task of education to insure the survival of these qualities: an enterprising curiosity, an undefeatable spirit, tenacity in pursuit, readiness for sensible self-denial, and above all, compassion.”

Kurt Hahn
