ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going person, for the most part :) Two years ago, I was finally able to see places that I have been craving for most of my life and now I am hooked! I am trying to continue, with each place I go, to venture a little further outside of my comfort zone- to do something that I have not done before, to disprove some previous fear or loose some hesitation that I may have. And I think that sharing your own knowledge and passions, whatever they may be (this includes cooking and art for sure :) is the best way to receive the same in return. And for now, this is what I am doing :)

On a side note, I am not very good at answering generalized questions about myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so good! I am constantly impressed by the kindness of strangers, and I can't wait to share my "couch" once I find my home again!

Interests

music, lots of music, art, photography and PLAYING OUTDOORS and food of different cultures…food in general! Nature and living creatures are also a part of my everyday life and I like to plan my day around being outdoors in some way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy movies that are usually just a little bit offbeat- Godard, Truffaut, Fellini, Almodovar, Jarmusch, Cohen brothers, others. books, yes, I love to read for pleasure though I haven't been doing as much of it as I would like, lately. music,yes! too much to list, but here are a few artists I like-Gillian Welch, Cat Power, Lhasa, Daughter, Neil Young, Michael Hurley, Jolie Holland, David Byrne, Edith Piaff, Fever Ray, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams, hmm, other random indie bands, blues, western swing, old time country, some techno, others...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the stars in the Sahara desert, and a dog running off with my clothes at 5am the next morning...and sleeping on that sand is hard to beat!

In general, I think that traveling is pretty amazing, and I have seen so many things that I would have never expected!

Teach, Learn, Share

Music and food... though I am not a good musician myself (I can play chords on a guitar, and I vaguely remember how to play the few songs that I taught myself through a short stint of piano lessons a long time ago), I enjoy all types of music and performance. This is something that I am very passionate about! I like learning new ways of cooking and gardening as well…I think I am a decent cook and I am always happy to do it! And if you like, I can teach you my simple way to knit, as I'm not very good at it, but enjoy it nonetheless. I'm a bit of a nerd. Oh, and I can teach you how to swing dance, if I haven't forgotten it yet!
