About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life!

ABOUT ME

I've traveled to 36 countries and all six inhabited continents and as you can imagine, I've got a ton of great stories. I am also very clumsy so I have a lot of great stories about that too. A lot of the travel was solo. I'm not one to be easily scared off by more "adventurous" travel (hence my trip to a remote island between the coasts of Yemen & Somalia).

I'm more of a laid back person while I do enjoy going out for a drink or to dance (albeit not very well haha) I'm not a big hard core partier. I'm usually happiest with a good beer/bourbon/wine and great conversation with a small group. That said, I love meeting new people, experiencing new things, and trying new foods. I'm open to trying just about anything once, even if it's out of my comfort zone!

At my core I'm a nerd but I also really love the outdoors. For example, two of my favorite ways to spend my time are playing board games and hiking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A dear friend of mine from Saudi Arabia introduced me to CS, she now lives in Pittsburgh.

I enjoy hosting people and attending local events. I've yet to surf but I hope to sometime this spring.

Music: Motown, Indie Pop, Classic Rock, Classical, R&B

Books: I read a lot of programming books. My most recent fiction were Americanah and In The Land of Invisible Women.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(I can't choose just one, sorry)

- Visiting Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city in Islam.

- Cage diving with Great Whites in South Africa.

- Solo skydiving in Seattle and coming within inches of hitting a telephone pole.

- Jumping waves and dancing on NYE on Ipanema Beach in Brazil.

- Eating Kangaroo steaks and fried mars bars in Australia and then climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new things! Teach me!

I can teach you about programming, how to make wine "prison style", how to write your name in Arabic, and board games.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an extremely clean, respectful and independent guest. I am flexible depending on what you expect and prefer. It is your house and your generosity so I feel it is my duty to ensure it's as enjoyable and pain-free as possible for you!

I'd like to bring something along or do something to thank you. What do you like? Beer/Wine/Whiskey? Do you like when people cook for you? Do your dishes? Vacuum? Let me know or I'll be forced to guess!
