About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see where this takes us!

ABOUT ME

LOVE.
We are goofs. We are eager to explore the world.

CURRENTLY:
CJ is currently in Troy, NY working as a mechanical engineer.
Sarah is in a perpetual state of ????

OUR STORY:

We met in the Fall of 2010 on the Ballroom Dance Team. CJ asked her to be his partner and after a little coercion she agreed.

WATCH US DANCE (112):

American Rumba at MAC 2010
American Waltz at MAC 2010

We've come a long way:
International Waltz at Nationals 2016 (bright yellow dress): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0rBsMWxcazEV3BHSEtlZHdyenc/view?usp=sharing

LEISURE:

We love to do nearly everything! We might spend a night in to have a movie night or spend a night out to party. We enjoy dancing, cooking, and other leisurely activities!

- CJ loves to try great wine & beer!

- Although dancing is primarily competitive for us, we also dance for fun!

- We enjoy cooking and baking and producing goodies :)

- We often spend our days just lying in bed when we don't have anything to do (and sometimes even when we do).

We're both very easily amused and pleased with whatever activities we find to do.

Lastly, Sarah thoroughly enjoys massages while being hand fed grapes by CJ.

Smiles all around!

PHILOSOPHY

"I'll try anything twice! Just in case the first time was a fluke." - CJ

"Mo jo, jo jo." - Sarah

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're still new to CS (we've had a long lag... 5 years since our last rendezvous).
We've been able to surf twice, only recently.
While the two experiences were entirely different, they were equally amazing.
We've yet to be able to host.

CJ has attended CS gatherings in Florence.

Overall, we're very easy going. Literally, amused by ANYTHING. Therefore, most CS experiences we have had/will have will be enjoyable :)
We would love for potential hosts to show us around/show us their lifestyles/culture, but if they don't have the time to/don't want to, we definitely know how to find amusement on our own.

Music, Movies, and Books

We are both extremely and unfortunately indecisive, so instead of listing our favourites, some of the more recent movies we have watched are:
-Paranormal
-Identity Thief
-Wreck it Ralph
-Argo
-No Strings Attached
-Disney Movies
-The Town
-Despicable Me

We both have a varied collection of music.
Together, we mainly listen to Country (because no one else will listen to that with us and because it is the BEST feeling to drive around jamming out to country music).
Also, any music in 3/4 time is great because we can Waltz to it :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

CJ:
One amazing thing that I have done in my lifetime is climbing the trap dyke of Mt. Colden in the Adirondacks. I had never been hiking or rock climbing before, aside from indoor rock gyms. Going into the hike I didn't know what to expect, but when I got there and was faced with a really steep waterfall that we were supposed to be climbing, I was awestruck. I didn't think I could do it and was completely afraid, but after about 4 hours of trudging through water and climbing rock faces up to 10 feet high, we made it to the top and it was the most fantastic feeling. The view was beautiful, looking right at Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in New York State.

Sarah:
NYE Resolution for 2011 - Have something to write here.

23 March 2011 - DONE - Saw the Eiffel Tower in its full glory, at night, lit up, during the light show. It exceeded all my expectations and I found it to be the most amazing and under-rated spectacle. MUST. SEE. AGAIN.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are always excited to teach people how to dance!

We would be happy to share what we know in:
American Smooth (including: Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz)
American Rhythm (including: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo)
International Standard (including: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot Quickstep)
International Latin (including: Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive)
Social Dancing (including: Bachata, Salsa, Merengue)

Also, we are constantly seeking improvement and inspiration. We would love for other CS dancers to share what they know with us!

Note from Sarah: CJ is what they call a brilliant genius in the subject of Mathematics. I don't understand it, but if anyone wants to talk mathy-nerdy topics, he's your guy!
