Overview
About Me
A spontaneous adventurer, frequently a solo traveler, very liberal, outgoing, talkative, and insanely optimistic.
I love learning about the human experience, and how that is so different for everyone. I try to get to know as many different kinds of people as possible, and to remember that each person is the way they are because of everything that has ever happened to them.
I like to be questioned and challenged about my opinions, and even if I get frustrated, I learn more about myself and others that way.
My philosophy in life is to seize the moment, never postpone joy and happiness, and never wait for the "right time" to dream, explore, and discover. There is no right time. The right time is NOW! I don't want to wake up 20 years later regretting the things I did not get to do and see.
Also, always treat people the way you want to be treated. This golden rule is even more golden when couchsurfing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Not to sound corny, but couchsurfing has quite literally changed my life. I don't know where, or who, I would be without it.
I've met some of the most interesting, generous, and open-minded people I know, and have made some lasting and beautiful friendships.
I love to host, show people around, give local advice about Pittsburgh, and surf and meet new people both locals and travelers when traveling.
I would like to travel the world, one couch at a time :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I owe it to books to have become the person I am today. Reading was one of the main factors that opened my eyes and my mind. I grew up in a very conservative and sheltering society, so before the internet days, books were my only window to the rest of the world. Topics that I enjoy reading are: literature, philosophy, religion, history, politics, fiction, science, sociology, and psychology.
I like watching movies and my favorite movie of all the time is The Shawshank Redemption!
Music: I am falling in love with electronic music, and I tend to prefer deep house, acid house, techno, and old school trance
I LOVE jazz! I also like the Beatles, some blues, classic "golden-time" Arabic music, and any music that makes me belly dance!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Running an upscale pop up restaurant at Burning Man, Hiking the Salkantay trail for 5 days to Machu Picchu, Skydiving, Hitchhiking from Prague to Berlin, La Tomatina in Spain
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Arabic, how to cook something delicious with whatever ingredients you have available, and I can help you plan fun trips on a budget.
Everyone has a story. I would like to learn more about you and listen to your story :)
