About Me

CURRENT MISSION

double axel my way through the spring semester.

ABOUT ME

For now, I'm doing my MFA in Massachusetts and teaching undergraduate classes.

I grew up as a figure skater and violinist, and I still do both (competitively & professionally, respectively). I love the Spanish language and am obsessed with words. I'm a vegetarian and a bicyclist. I love being outside. I miss living in Boulder, CO. I have my green belt in karate. I traveled a lot as a kid, and growing up, my family hosted over 25 foreign exchange students. I've figure skated all over this country and a couple others, and the first-ever album I played violin on came out a year ago this January. I love having grown-up conversations with kids; I've found we have a lot in common. I'm a translator of Hispanic/Baroque drama. I write plays. Someday maybe I'll buy a boat and sail for several months.

PHILOSOPHY

Tread lightly!

Music, Movies, and Books

Way too many. If you like XTC, we'll be best friends. And my current non-academic read: The Holy Barbarians (about the beatnik culture!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a ride on a zip line-upsidedown-in Costa Rica; surfed the west coast of Costa Rica; traveled to Japan and Europe by myself; celebrated (in Spain) when Spain won the Eurocup in 2008; figure skated all over the world; got some nasty stitches from figure skating accidents.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach you to (ice) skate, speak English, knit really cool scarves and purses, ski, write a bad play, begin to understand a good play, and make a snow angel.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
