About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live, explore and learn as much as is possible while enjoying my life.

ABOUT ME

I'm a hardworking, independent, fun, determined individual who likes to have adventures. I'm also a single mom to twins born July 2011! I love traveling and meeting new people. I also love to learn new things and always have a long list of "to dos." These could be learning a third language or knitting a sweater. I have a knack for figuring out how to do just about anything and some of my friends think I'm a genious at putting things together and making them work.

PHILOSOPHY

I do my best to live a good life. I treat others well and hope that they do the same for me. I think one way to improving your life is to be a reflective person, to learn from your experiences and set goals for your future while enjoying the present.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I went to winter camp in Istanbul, hosted a couch surfer recently and use it to meet other like minded people in my area for things like Spanish conversation groups.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just had one so far. It was great! We got to know each other and I got a cooking lesson and learned how to play backgamon over the weekend.

Interests

I love being outdoors-walking, hiking, boating, etc. I also love books and reading, movies, making things (pottery, needle point, knitting), cooking, spending time with friends and of course my ultimate interest is traveling and learning languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

too many to list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping on top of the Harding Ice Trail (on a glacier) in Seward,Alaska. We were able to slide down the mountain on our tarp the next day in the middle of July. Not much beats sledding in a tank top on a warm sunny day!

Teach, Learn, Share

Surviving the elements (I did grow up in Alaska without bathrooms or electicity), cooking, Spanish, many crafts

I'd love to (re)learn stained glass, french, traditional crafts, etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Aruba, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Panama, Qatar, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In

Peru, South Africa, United States, Venezuela
