About Me

We're fully booked for February and March! Don't want anyone to write a nice long request in vain!

My husband (https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/photoflounder/) and I get a couple of couch requests every day, so we are choosy about who and when we host. For our own privacy and sanity, we're putting a few limits on surfers. We will host about 3 surfers/groups of csers each month with preference going (of course) to those who write thoughtful requests and to those we feel some kind of kinship to. And, I feel the need to add, to those who have actually read through some of my profile :P

We've also decided not to host for LESS than 2 nights. It's just not enough time to get to know each other.

That said, we'll still be available to exceptional last-minute requests, say, from intermedia artists and world-renowned vegan chefs!

(Also, sorry to add another thing to the list, but I don't usually respond to messages asking for a couch. If you want to surf, please send an actual couch request.)

CURRENT MISSION

To conquer my fear of stasis. To prove I can be happy in one place.

ABOUT ME

I'm a travel enthusiast. I love to meet new people, to explore new areas, to push the boundaries of my comfort zone. I love that transcendent moment when, as a stranger in a strange place with different languages and customs, you connect with someone through a smile, a laugh or a bumbling exchange of words. In that moment the world seems suddenly smaller; the superficial differences are still there, but the focal point becomes not those differences but the commonality of all people and all places.

PHILOSOPHY

Follow your bliss! Sounds corny I know, but what else is really as important in comparison?

In my relationships with other human beings, I believe wholeheartedly in acceptance, in non-judgment. What right do I have to pass judgment on another person's choices? I truly believe that we all strive to live to the highest possible standards - each day coming closer to those goals.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to share my knowledge of the English language. I can fine tune your writing or help improve your command of the language.

I'm a passionate vegan cook, and would gladly share tips for cooking healthy, easy, and flavorful vegan meals.

I would love to gain practical skills in the area of sustainability. So if you compost, have an organic garden, have a house built with sustainable principles, have knowledge of and/or use renewable energy sources, etc., can I pick your brain?
