About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To just BE. Live life, and have an amazing time doing it.

ABOUT ME

I like to laugh. That may be a problem in some cases when I think everything is funny, but I think laughter is the key to happiness, and I don't think people laugh ENOUGH. I love meeting new people, attempting to learn (aka butchering) new languages, a good cold beer, a delicious home cooked meal, and just hanging around with people. I love being out and about, but also my nap time, and sleeping in late, and I am definitely a night owl.

I know what I like and what I'm interested in, but am constantly distracted by new options and new frontiers and ideas. I study journalism, but can imagine myself in any number of different careers in the future.

After studying 3 years in San Francisco, I am now studying in Ã…rhus, Denmark at the Journalism school.

PHILOSOPHY

Just be happy, live as much in the moment as you can. I know people say this all the time, and it seems nearly impossible to do, but I try to think about it all the time and just not WORRY so much. Not only does it distract from the good times you can have, but gives unsightly wrinkles!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfed twice, but lots of contact with people through the site, and a few CS events. When I get back to San Francisco, I want to be the person travelers want to stay with!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lost my CS virginity in Copenhagen, and had a great time! In Oslo, a group of friends spanned out between 4 different hosts, so we met a ton of new people and it was such a good experience, plus we met tons of people. Hoping for more good times in the future :)

Interests

Laughing! You know that. Beer, books, cooking, traveling, sleeping, lounging around, taking photos, writing stories, exploring new places, dancing and attempting to sing, knitting, eating garlic, watching a good movie :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a music or movie snob, I think that takes too much work. I love seeing music live, cuddling in bed with a good book, and getting lost in a movie.

Currently reading: Love in the Time of Cholera

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching Italy win the World Cup in 2006 from a huge screen in Piazza Pleblicito in Napoli, and the riot of joy with fireworks and screaming and massive crowds that followed.

Teach, Learn, Share

There are 3 different words (shed, slut, crazy) in the Danish language that sound exactly the same, yet I cannot pronounce any of them.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
