ABOUT ME

I am a 26 yo woman who lives and works on a small family farm just outside of the lovely town of Bellingham, Washington. I am passionate about learning new skills and creating practical art. I get a travel bug in the winter and try to plan out trips for the spring and summer, though there are many adventures to be had close to Bellingham. I value community and sustainable life practices. I can be quirky and silly, but also love deep conversations about life, the universe, and everything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couchsurfing.com so have not had a chance to host anyone from this website, though I have hosted travelers and artists met on the street of Bellingham as well as friends of friends. I am excited to meet new folks through this site.

Rocks, Trees, Mountains, waterfalls, dogs, horses, wildlife, knitting, curling up with hot chocolate on a rainy day, digging in the dirt, chickens, sheep, ducks, Nubian goats, clean water, art, love, friends, family, the colors yellow green & blue, camping, hiking, house plants, growing my own food and picking food from the garden to eat for dinner, and watching the clouds float by.

Music: I like a bit of everything and find that genres aren't always the best, but I'll try it anyway. American Folk, Bluegrass, Alternative Rock, Progressive Rock, Anything with a mandolin or banjo is pretty much a go for me. I play the mandolin & banjo, been teaching myself for the past 5/ 2 years respectively and enjoy jamming with friends.

Movies: I'm not the biggest movie go-er but I have enjoyed childrens films with light hearted fun and some humor for children and adults, like Ferngully and Shrek. I have a soft spot for disney movies even though I don't quite agree with the way women are portrayed in them.. but I still like them. I can't stand horror or gore or any scary movies, I have too vivid an imagination and dislike nightmares.

Books: I love them, I read quite fast and just absorb them like water. The Brothers K, Water for Elephants, Mists of Avelon, The Secret Life of Bees. I really enjoy books based off of classic fairytails with new twists as well as origional fansiful stories. I have just started the Song of Ice and Fire series and am enjoying it.

I can teach knitting, native plant knowledge of the Pacific Northwest, Basic geology of the western United States, Gluten free baking- or at least share what I've learned. I would love to learn more about Gluten free baking and music theory as well as how to build a tiny house.
