Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My story with couchsurfing first started back in early 2011 in Germany when I heard it from a friend and immediately I was impressed and inspired by this idea. The more I participate in couchsurfing, the more I appreciate its precious value-meeting interesting/amazing people who I might never have chance to meet during my daily routine and have cultural exchanges to get rid of stereotypes. Give and receive help and warmth and keep it going. Build trust between sincere and curious strangers.
MY COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been participating in couchsurfing both through hosting& surfing.
I have hosted people from China, Taiwan, France, Germany and New Zealand while I was in the United States and Singapore and now in Australia.
I have surfed in South Korea, the United States, Mexico, Japan and Australia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Spent one day exploring a rainforest near Malang Indonesia with a group of internatioanl friends from India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Brazil while I was volunteering there. It was so slippery and I fell down so many times, however with friends' help and encouragement, I managed to accomplish the trekking and saw the breath-taking view of Indian ocean and a beautiful beach in the end! I thought it was a great practice of determination and perseverance.
2. Made up my mind to run for a position in an youth-run organization in Singapore since I believed firmly in its purpose. Flew there regardless of the fact that I didn't have much connection before that, met members of local chapters, shared my vision and strategies with them and learnt much about local practices in a short time. In the end, I was selected on the team and had the pleasure to work with a team of brilliant youth from 6 countries.
