About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To listen, learn, love, and go wherever life takes me. To be present and positive and to "be the light i'd like to see in the world." I believe that life will always get better as long as you keep doing your self work -- growing, understanding and expanding yourself. I'm currently on a mission to bring the joy of movement and dance to people, especially if they think they "can't" dance! It is our birth rite and it is in each and every one of us, no matter how much our culture may have tried to squash it!

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and meet new people! Never stop learning and keeping an open mind... life is one adventure after another and I never want to stop living it to the fullest! Lately, my journeys have been more focused on my inner landscape, than the outer world and I have learned a lot about who I am and what I have to offer to this world. I still do some travelling each year, but I'm working on putting down roots in my little coastal town in western Washington.

PHILOSOPHY

It all starts with love. Developing Love for the self that is strong enough to expand outward and touch everything and everyone that you interact with. Life is an ever changing journey and it's important to me to never let myself become stagnant and stuck in old ways.

"Do one thing every day that scares you." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been terribly active on CS these past few years. My housing situations didn't accommodate guests and we now have a pretty terrible situation for visitors in my current house. I also haven't been traveling much. Most of my hosting experience has been recorded under our community house account: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/the_buoy. You can go there to see reviews that are more focused on hosting rather than surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed across America, from Boston to Seattle, and stayed with 6 wonderful and inspiring hosts. It was an amazing experience! Since then, I've utilized couch surfing a whole lot - hosting and surfing. I love the community and have met incredible kindred spirits along the way.

Interests

Developing and strengthening community, Compassionate Communication (also known as Non-violent Communication or NVC), healthy local foods, yoga, meditating, singing, dancing (conscious dance, salsa, bachata, lindy hop, west coast swing, fusion, blues, tango, contact improv are the main ones), cycling everywhere, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, playing piano, making art, seeing music, knitting, podcasts (this american life, radiolab, snap judgement), fancy salts & teas, making chocolate, cooking nourishing food, swimming, laughing, road tripping, traveling!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was sitting on a river bank in Maine once. I saw a small object floating toward me. It was a pair of ears. A female moose emerged out of the water and climbed onto the bank a couple feet away from where I was sitting! We looked at each other for a few moments and then she wandered away.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn Spanish and French! I can teach you how to snowboard, how to partner dance, or how to knit or crochet!

I can be good company and conversation and hopefully make lots of new connections through this website. I hope that I can show visitors in my area some good fun stuff to do and make their time here just a little bit brighter.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bahamas, Canada, France, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain
