About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go on a busking adventure in Europe with 3 musician friends and hopefully make people dance and laugh.

ABOUT ME

Broadly speaking, I'm generally easygoing and approachable, and love learning (that sounds vague, but not everyone does!).
I'm usually quite social, and when in this mood, I love spending time talking, hearing and sharing ideas, opinions and stories with people. In my more withdrawn mood, I like to watch films, read, or wander outdoors on my bike/by foot.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I will be a surfer, not a host. With 3 other bandmates, I'd love to entertain my hosts with some music while we busk.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I have WWOOFed in Ireland for a month, and for a few days in Italy, my wonderful couch-surfing experiences are yet to come.

Interests

As said, I love films and books, and in-depth pub conversations with friends and acquaintances.
I enjoy the outdoors, and this especially includes: bike-riding, walking, and gardening.
I love playing music. Aside from being in a few percussion bands in Sheffield (where my university is based), I play the guitar and ukulele. I'd really like to and will hopefully travel to Munich and busk with 3 other musician friends (accordion, violin, and percussion) from there to near the coast of north-east Italy, playing music with gypsy elements to it.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many, and for so many different reasons.
Since it's the summer when I'll be travelling, I'll mention a few summer favourites:

Films: American Beauty, Little Miss Sunshine, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Bad Education.

Music: Nick Drake, Kaki King, reggae, gypsy-jazz/gypsy-dance

Books: Mostly non-fiction, like Bill Bryson, or atheist literature. Fiction includes Kingsley Amis.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I will be busking with friends, I would love some music-playing opportunities with hosts, both to teach anything fun to hosts, and to be taught. Furthermore, visiting new countries inevitably means an exchange in culture, in particular, learning about language and food!
