About Me
Hello! I am a wanna-be adventurer. So far, I haven't had the funds or time to spread myself across the world, but I'm hoping this will change.
I work a job that half the time I am behind a desk and computer doing paperwork and answering phones, and the other half I am driving around the county to different schools and doing vision screenings on kids.
In the meantime, I am a vocal director at my church and asst. coordinator for childcare. I also take all of the time that I'm not in my kitchen cooking or baking, or watching movies, or painting, or drinking tea... so whatever time is left, I drive. I will either drive around the city and explore little areas and roads that I hadn't ventured on, or I'll hit the highway and get as far away as possible before jumping onto some back road and trying to find my way back home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been stuck in Pittsburgh my whole life, only able to go on quick day road trips to appease my yearning for adventure due to money. I'm hoping that trying CS will allow me to expand my mental map and venture outside of my comfort zone! I want to meet new people, try new things, and go new places, and I believe that all of you lovely people can help me!
I did just move into my own apartment, with a roommate. We are still situating, but are hoping to welcome guests into our home soon!
Interests
Every city that I have visited has been able to supply me with a brand new array of the three foundations of life - music, art, and FOOD! Luckily, those are also my three favorite things.
I love reading, though I don't typically have much time for it. Running around barefoot in the grass is also on the top of my list.
Driving. Looking for adventure. Jumping out of airplanes. The like.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a music box in my car with 50+ cds, mostly mixes that people have given me. I love music, mostly all types.
I will sit and watch just about any movie with anyone, save for horror movies. Of course, I love the clichés - LOTR, HP, Star Wars... also Disney. Musicals. Historically based movies. I also love movies that have terrible endings; it's very satisfying to me.
Books - I love the classically wonderful authors. Jane Austin, C.S. Lewis, Poe. I'm not currently looking at my bookshelf, so I can't pull out all of my favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Other than jumping out of an airplane? Hmmm..
I'll say... my first trip to New England. My family took a day to spend with friends in Rhode Island, who took us to the coast to see the sunset. I saw a group of people standing near the edge of a cliff laughing and having a blast, so of course I separated from my own group and joined the fun people. A few moments later, I had changed into a bathing suit and was throwing myself off of the cliff to fall 12-40 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. There were different levels of ledges that we could jump off of, so I worked my way up, also warming up to the chilly water.
Cliff jumping into the ocean at sunset. Check.
Also, I worked as a lifeguard for four years (made three saves) and as a 911 Dispatcher for 2 years (hopefully I saved people). That's pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to sing and make art, so I can share that. I am currently pursuing a degree in religious studies, but I love to learn about, honestly, anything. Especially things that I have no knowledge about.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook. I love to cook, and the majority of what I make turns out great. I also love grocery shopping, so I can return your generosity by attempting to create an edible masterpiece. For the most part, if I have the recipe and ingredients, I can do it. I also can clean. I love to clean. And I love children. If you have children, I will play with and occupy them for hours.
