About Me

CURRENT MISSION

explore, have fun

ABOUT ME

I'm a cross country and track runner at Carleton College, easy going, and psyched. I really like going for runs and then jumping into water. I also really like to cook. My favorite books include Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard, Harry Potter, the fountainhead, and On the Road. I also love watching Planet Earth until I can get out there myself. I love camping and backpacking, and would love to spend my days as a trip leader/camp counselor. Until then, I'm in college studying English and some Biology.

PHILOSOPHY

To live with no regrets, and make the people around me happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had the opportunity to host anybody yet (not too many get to Northfield, Minnesota). But if you come this way, let me know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Awesome experience in Barcelona this summer!

Interests

Exploring, running, listening to music and people, beautiful places, food, books and poetry. Most anything interests me if I think about it enough.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, James Herriott, Cat's Cradle, On the Road, Love Actually, A cappella

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went swimming in the Atlantic at night with some friends, and we realized that every time we took a stroke, a stream of little fluorescent specks would light up. They looked like stars in the ocean. It turns out they were phosphorescent plankton that glow when they're disturbed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am really engaged with my studies, and would be happy to share my thoughts (right now I'm specifically studying Irish literature in Ireland). I really enjoy learning from others, and listening to their thoughts on current issues, life, music, politics.
