Overview
About Me
I've been a single momma for the past 11 years to a feisty little boy. I'm also a student, served in the U.S. Air Force, volunteer firefighter, medical professional, artsy, music oriented, and into basically anything and everything... even rockhounding. I'm a very honest and kind person that is truly welcoming to anyone and everyone. I love culture, and can't wait to be engulfed in it! I'm also a very empathic and compassionate person with my heart on my sleeve. I love everyone and any kind of new experience to open my mind even more. I'm a learnaholic as I like to call it.
It's not wanderlust for me, it's wanderLOVE.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Honestly, I was watching Youtube videos on my upcoming trip to South Africa and learned about Couchsurfing.com :)
Update: My first couchsurfing experience was in South Africa and it was amazing! I definitely have the travel bug, as well as the culture bug.
I hope to get a better feel of culture and the people of different locations I travel to and I'm willing to accept others into my own home in hopes of learning more than we would from hotels and books, but also spreading compassion. First hand experiences are way better and "real".

Music, Movies, and Books
-I live for and love all types of music.
-I also love to read! I will read anything that helps open my mind up to new ideas, adventures, and keeps me furthest away from ignorance. I do like some fiction too.
-I'm a movie fan as well. I don't watch that much TV, but I really do enjoy sitting in a theater and watching a movie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived as a single mother with no local family for 6 years so far. It's truly been harder than bootcamp, but my son has changed me in amazing ways! I have focused on unconventional ways such as hands on learning, independence, organic food, cooking together, cleaning together, respect, morals, acceptance of everyone, art, music, cloth diapering, early potty training, breastfeeding until he weaned himself, sustainability, gardening, and just really trying to teach my son the ways of our ancestors rather than our most current ways here in America. He also has his own passport and will be joining me on my adventures within the next year, but not quite yet ;)
