About Me

Just got back from a year in India...I spent most of it in Calcutta volunteering as a nurse with the NGO Calcutta Rescue (http://www.calcuttarescue.org/), and the last couple of months traveling around North India (Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, etc). Unfortunately, we were renting from a pretty strict landlord and weren't able to host while we were there, but we are now once again open for business!

My husband Anthony (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/freedom_fighter) and I are currently living in Seattle, Washington with two roommates in a house in Columbia City. At the moment we have a large, private spare bedroom with a bed and some couch space in the living room available.

Our house is so close to the light rail station that when you hear the train coming, you can run out the door and be on the platform before it leaves, yet it is also semi-secluded in a little forest of great maple trees, bamboo, and blackberry vines. You can access the Sea-Tac airport, downtown Seattle, the International district, the Century Link field stadium, all within minutes on the Central Link Light Rail. There is also a cute downtown Columbia City area right down the street with great restaurants, bars, grocery store and farmers market, a bakery, etc. and buses that can take you elsewhere in Seattle.

The four of us come and go depending on variable work schedules, but most of us are usually home in the evening and like to hang out, cook dinner, play music, and talk!

Music, Movies, and Books

I've played traditional Irish fiddle for the last 10 years or so with the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, Craobh Dugan, in my hometown of Utica, NY. My husband and I also go busking for tips when we are between jobs, and play covers of our favorite tunes, ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Wilco and beyond.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past summer, I went to the Himalayas and stood on a snowy peak in India in mid July. I was pretty excited.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like learning languages and songs, I'll trade you what I know for whatever you've got!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anthony and I can bake, cook, clean or entertain you with music, all things we love to do and enjoy sharing with friends :) (Anthony has worked as a chef professionally, and his specialty is Indian food)

We also have a settlers of Catan board if anyone is interested...

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
