I am a media and journalism student from Germany. I just came back from a study abroad semester from northern England where I had my first experiences with couchsurfing. Now I can't stop.

I love to travel! My last journey was to Israel with my dear sister. The big dream is hiking and kanuing in Canada and see Japan.
Besides being on the road I love to talk to inspiring people and learn about their state of mind and culture. I try to be as open-minded as possible and it takes a lot to make me loose my calm.

WHY I AM HOSTING
I love hosting because I love people and sharing my knowledge about the city and my cooking skills with them.

WHY I LIKE TO STAY WITH CS
When travelling I don't want to experience a country through tourist information centers but meet local folks. This is why I love couchsurfing because you meet various and interesting people. Also it's my natural curiosity for strangers as I (as a journalist) love to write about people. But no worries - I won't just write an article about you.

MUSIC
I love music altough I can't play an instrument or sing. I adore Ben Howard for his guitar playing and lyrics and Florence Welch (Florence and The Machine) for her amazing concerts and the spirit she is sharing with her music.

Other musicans I listen to lately are Bon Iver, Alt-J, Kings of Leon, Daughter, Jack Garrat, Matt Corby, James Vincent McMorrow, Tame Impala, Allman Brown, Sizzar, Bob Dylan, Phosphorent, Fleet Foxes, Belgrave, Oscar and the Wolves, Taken by Trees, Shura, Malibou State, The Beatles, Patti Smith, Cage the Elephant, Cold War Kids, Kendrick Lamar, Angel Haze, Atmosphere, SOL, ...

But I really love Techno and House to dance and party to :)

MOVIES
I am addicted to TED Talks and all kind of documentary. Currently very interested in gender related topics, always in to documentaries about nature and society.
Besides that I like to escape reality through the sci-fi and fantasy lense. Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring are my all time favourites.
I enjoy movies from Lars von Trier, Woody Allen, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Ava DuVernay, Kathryin Bigelow and Shine Louise Houston ;)

READING
I read a lot of magazine and newspapers like Intelligent Life, Guardian, New Internationalist, Ms, Spiegel, Zeit, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, brand eins, DIVA and all kind of online stuff.

I like literature, too. I let myself be inspired in the bookshops, I don't read special authors, it's mixed and depends on the season.
