About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Kittens. I'm all about kittens. . .

ABOUT ME

Ever since I was little, I had a tremendous desire to travel, even though there wasn't much chance to do so. Now that I'm older, I'm taking advantage of the fluidity that my job allows and trying to visit and/or live in as many places as possible, and meet as many people as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

I definitely consider travel and sharing as both necessary to my life. I've found that they go together quite well, and I think it's awesome that CS helps to facilitate this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosted by some awesome people and have hosted some very cool people myself. I'm definitely going to continue to participate in CS. I don't have space in my current apartment to host, but I'd love to meet up with anybody visiting who'd like to be shown around Moscow or who just wants to hang out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before CS I spent a couple summers in Russia, one of which included living with an Orthodox priest. In 2008 my friend and I took a roadtrip along the West Coast from Arizona to Vancouver, Canada, couchsurfing along the way. We had a great time in large part thanks to our amazing hosts! We then hosted people that summer at our house in Virginia and had nothing but positive experiences with our guests. I then spent a couple of years in Moscow, Russia where I attended some of the weekly meet-ups and couchsurfed in Ukraine. There are definitely very cool CS-ers to be found on both sides of the ocean. :)

Interests

I love what I call American celebrity culture. . .probably too much. We've all got our guilty pleasures, right? Also, I enjoy learning about and discussing new things - music, movies, books, etc, but especially languages. I am, at my roots, a big linguistic dork. :) Also, I love kittens.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, there's my prostitute/absinthe at a bar in Moscow story. . .or perhaps the time I did something kind of illegal in front of a very famous historical landmark. . .
