Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been doing couch surfing, in a way already when I joined my friend at her previous shared flat in San Sebastian in summer 2010, since I hadn't known her former room mates before. I visited friends in England in 2009. This year my boyfriend and I went to spend a week at my best friend's place in Istanbul. I have hosted two couchsurfer of my friend's when she wasn't able to do so.

Interests

HAPPINESSI enjoy the company of my friends, finding out what stirs the people around me. At the same time, I try to stay in touch with those who are not being around where I am, realising now and then that writing letters and postcards tends to be the most beautiful way of doing so. Generally, when it comes to friendship and those I love, I truly believe in giving and receiving. Thus my motto is to Cherish them as much as you can. It may sound a bit idealistic, but I think that is the first step if we genuinely want to make difference in our increasingly confusing world.MUSICI love all kinds of music.. I love how some songs remind me of special moments in my life.READING Just recently I have realised again that it is worthwhile to spend time to immerse myself completely in a book. Though after having finished three books in a row that had incredibly sad endings I hoping for my next one to be a more uplifting read. CYCLINGWhoever invented a bike he must have been a genius. Only downsides to me: Hills and mountains, plus Novermber weather. />HISTORYI am being lazy and use Robert Penn Warren's words from "All the kings men" to describe what can be so appealing about history: "And what we students of history always learn is that the human being is a complicated contraption and that they are not good or bad and the good comes out of bad and the bad out of good, and the devil takes the hindmost.
