My name is Sara. I'm 28 years old and I'm born in New York but are up in Sweden. Currently I live in Riga, Latvia where I study medicine. It's been a long road to where I am now and it has been a big step to decide to study medicine for me. Before Latvia I lived in Australia where I travelled and worked in different areas of the country. I absolutely loved it. Before that I studied chemical biology in Sweden and have worked a lot in the industry with production with dairy, cookies and crackers to even working at Volvo with cars.

Something I have discovered lately is travelling! Living abroad for many years have opened my eyes to meeting new people and to get to know their culture. I have found myself taking a like in hiking which I had never done before I moved to Australia so if there is a chance for a good hike up a mountain I will take it!

Other than that I am an easy going person who likes to try new things and enjoy spending time with other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This summer (2022) I will be travelling around Europe and hope to be able to meet some new people to have amazing experiences with, whatever that might be! Hiking, trying food and restaurants, exploring the city or just a laid back day at a local pub. I am up for anything!

I've had an account for many years but haven't been using couchsurfing too much. But thought I would try and see if there are some cool experiences waiting and lovely people to meet!

Interests

My interests are of course travelling! But other than that I like music and cannot go a day without at least singing along to one song. I am one of those people who sings very loud in the shower. To be fair, people do say I have a nice voice so hopefully it is not a problem if you would host me.

I like cooking as well. Specifically spicy food and trying new recipes is always fun!
Growing up I played volleyball and will always be down to play some if the opportunity arises.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit my job and moved to Australia! That is something I've wanted to do since I was a kid and taking the step and doing that has opened up so much in my life!
