A research project on the poetry od Mak Dizdar -- while exploring Sarajevo and Bosnia!

ABOUT ME

I've just finished up my second year of graduate school in Slavic Languages and Literatures, and I've never been happier! I spent a number of years living in Saint Petersburg, and one of my favorite hobbies is translating Russian poetry.

I'm currently spending a month in Bosnia, studying the language and soaking up the local culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I've only ever surfed, but, as soon as I have my own space, I look forward to hosting as well. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the summer of 2011, a friend and I took an epic journey: we hitchhiked around the Baltic Sea from Saint Petersburg and back again. When we weren't camping in parks or sleeping in the backs of trucks, we used CouchSurfing to find places to stay. Through CouchSurfing, we were able to meet amazing people with amazing stories to tell. The best part about this way of traveling is that it kind of restores your faith in the human race (whoa, not to be overdramatic or anything). The fact is, there are people out there, complete strangers, who are willing to take you into their cars, their homes, their lives. I have never ceased to by grateful to, or amazed by, the incredible people who have taken us in. And I hope that they enjoyed their time with us, as well. :)
