About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore Australia. Meet new people. Explore new ways of life. See where I fit into it.

ABOUT ME

I'm Sara. I'm a Canadian but I love being out of the country. I love the ocean. I love good live music. I love time on my own. I love the energy of being in a crowd. I love people with a wicked sense of humor and I love making quiet people laugh. I love loud busy cities and I love the quiet of the country.

I'm interested in the communities people identify with, the connections they form with others and the various ways that they lead their lives. I love travelling for the way it allows you to try on someone else's life of a while.

PHILOSOPHY

Be open to meeting new people and be open with myself around them. Honor my instincts. Don't hold on too tight. Experience good things and then let them go. When things go wrong, remember it will make for an hilarious story down the road.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing, but am looking forward to meeting alot of new couches in the future. Maybe we can have a laugh, eat some food, drink some beer and swap some stories. I'll tell you funny stories about Canada in the winter and you can tell me stories about the life the occurs around your couch.

Interests

Acupuncture. Yoga-ing. Horse back riding. Live music listening. Good coffee drinking. Beach going. Vegetable growing. Travel story exchanging. Delicious cookie baking. New friend making. Random adventure having. Good cause advocating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a month on summer studying Rainforest Ecology and Biodiversity at a research station in Ecuador. I hiked in the amazon, swam with pirahanas, climbed to the top of the forest canopy, learned what 99% humidity felt like and began to identify myself as a traveller.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture so I would be happy to trade in knowledge or acupuressure treatments during my stay!

I also know a fair bit about Canada so could offer you some advice if you are planning a trip.

I like to bake and am a decent cook, so I'd be happy to learn some of your favorite dishes or prepare you some of mine.
