About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To host international travelers.

ABOUT ME

Nonprofit fundraiser, mother of 2 amazing boys, wife of 12 years and counting.

Our family loves healthy local food, outdoor activities, traveling, yoga, natural medicine, live music shows, reading, swimming, farms and farmers' markets.

We are conscientious, self-cleaning, happy guests that love to get local tips on foodie haunts, beauty spots and free or low-cost family activities.

I work as a grantwriter for Free Press, a national nonprofit that fights for your rights to connect and communicate.

Music, Movies, and Books

I devour novels, especially ones that have smart, strong and complex female characters. Our family loves Jamaican music, especially reggae. We also like Indian raga, world music, hip hop, folk and a bunch of other inspiring and conscious music. My husband is a long-time reggae DJ who plays at celebrations and on a community radio station.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken several trips around the world to work, study, volunteer and travel. I've lived in or visited Austria, Australia, Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Egypt, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Palestine, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

Some favorites times are sunrise hikes on Mt. Fuji and Mt. Sanai. Hiking the Na Pali coast on Kauai. Hitch-hiking across the Australia Outback. Trekking and rafting in the Himalayas. Sneaking into Petra. Paradise Falls, hot waterfall in Guatemala. Sailing down the Nile. Planting olive trees in Palestine. Pretty much every day of adventuring in New Zealand. Swimming with dolphins in the Red Sea. Taking in the Alps by motorcycle. Solo traveling in India.

As a family, we enjoy hiking, bicycling, swimming and meeting locals everywhere we go.

Teach, Learn, Share

I try to offer more than a couch or guest room when I can. Generosity flows around the world. The more we are generous with each other, the more peaceful our planet will be.
