About Me
CURRENT MISSION
A year ago I was getting ready to move across the world and study a PhD in Sociology. Now I am living in Waco and my current mission is to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life.
ABOUT ME
I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things. Having moved across the world after living in the same city for 33 years has definitely changed the ideas I had of myself. Like I used to think I was good with directions and names, it turns out I had just always been in the same place around the same people. Right now I am very eager and thankful for the opportunity to grow and learn.
PHILOSOPHY
I just do the best I can in each situation.
In my classes, my philosophy is "Trying to be the professor I want to have when I'm a student, and the student I want to have when I am teaching"
I also have a motto "Care for everyone; put your faith on no one, not even yourself; and be ready for anyone to surprise you"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't had an opportunity to participate in Couchsurfing much. I used to attend and organize some meetings in Valparaiso a long time ago. Now I am interested in travelling around the USA and I am looking to being active on CS once again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted and been hosted by wonderful people. It took me a while to surf myself, but so far it has been very positive. I am very thankful for how amazing people have been to help me when I have needed it, and I hope to do the same.
Interests
I am currently very dedicated to my PhD program, so I enjoy seeing how things outside of it are connected
- sociology
- sustainable development
- community building
- higher education
- movements and participation

What I Can Share with Hosts
I was a Spanish teacher for 6 years in Valparaiso, Chile, and then a college professor on Latin American courses for exchange students for 5 years, so I am always happy to talk about Latin America, cook, and share in the depth of new experiences.
