About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I desire to know the world in as many ways as possible. I long to know its people, cultures, its many different smiles and races. I strive to be as open-minded and inviting to others as I'd want them to be towards me.
ABOUT ME
I am open minded and willing to listen to anyone's side of the story. I understand that as different as we all are we have so much in common. We want to be loved, we want to be accepted for who we really are and we look for people who reciprocate these things. I love other cultures so much I decided to study them for 4 years in college. My focus was on Latin American studies, mainly its beautifully complex politics, economics and culture. I read voraciously and can't wait to learn any new fact. I am an avid collector of books and the information in them. I love the ocean that is near my home and my family. My friends are what keep me going. I'm ready for an adventure but could sit with a cup of coffee and chat all day long. I don't believe any god created the world for us. I believe in the spirit of the earth and that we are all equal.

PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the power of self. I don't believe there is anyone more powerful than you and that is so beautiful to me. There is nothing that the human mind can't overcome. I believe in giving people second chances and love is a wonderful means to forgiveness. I'm convinced that if everyone lived (or better yet, Couch Surfed!)with someone from a different culture or race, the world would be a much happier place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to communicate as much as possible with anyone passing through my area. I don't get many surfers so it's exciting to chat with anyone passing through!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My most exciting CouchSurfing experience was in Brazil. We had no plan to visit Belo Horizonte but ended up there and had an amazing experience with our host who showered us with food and friends. I was also able to participate in a CouchSurfing meeting in Chile that proved exciting! It showed me how many couchsurfers there really are all around our world.
Interests
I love books most of all. The imagination is really
such an impressive thing. Still, I love film and the places it can take you in a different way than books can. I love food and what it says about a culture. The way its eaten and what it contains speak so clearly about the people consuming it. I am a singer and songwriter and love the freedom that art gives the human mind and emotions. I love economics and how it makes the world so clear to me at times. More than that I love people. I love their passion and mistakes, and the way deep down, we are all the same except with wonderful nuances making us all just a little bit unique.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Guanajuato, Mexico for a few months and experienced the vibrant Cervantes Festival where mariachi bands flood the streets with song for nights on end. I visited Haiti, a beautiful place with such a sharp contrast between the lush landscape and the impoverished people. I toured Greece and Turkey seeing Ephesus and the Parthenon among so many other amazing feats from human history. I got to be just a few feet away as President Obama and the First Lady walked in the inauguration parade in January 2009. A few days before the inauguration I got to be in a crowd of over 400,000 people dancing to "Shout" as Garth Brooks sang for the "We are One" inauguration concert. I was privileged to stay in the home of a wonderful man in Jamaica who caught fish for dinner and made juice from the fruit in his garden. I got to live in Boston for six months and see the "old" part of the US, where those wonderfully crazy, rebellious founding fathers decided to fight and created one of the most amazing documents in history.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to write your name in Arabic, describe what its like to sit through a major hurricane, show you my salsa moves and describe what life is like in the US. I can't wait to learn how to prepare authentic dishes from the people in the countries I visit and what the customary way to greet people is. I want to share with others the experiences I've had with anything and everything from my travels to being in love because I can't wait to hear their stories about things like that. I want to be wiser because I've sat and heard the stories of countless lives of amazing people.
