About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a third year history student. I love to travel, dance, read, write, and discuss issues with people. Although I love meeting new people and having fun, I'm not what you would call a party animal :)

At the moment I'm studying in Germany and I'm having a blast. In between school work I jog through the forest close to home and attend dance classes. I love having out with my flatmates or meeting people for coffee. And once in a while I like to dance all night at the clubs.

I've recently become interested in modern culture, being a Canadian living in Europe has really opened my eyes about my home and my concept of the world, I'm loving every minute of it.

PHILOSOPHY

I can get pretty serious into my studies and sometimes get lost in the intellectual ocean. Therefore I also love to hang out with friends, and just laugh. I guess my philosophy is simply to try and be a good person for myself and others.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books and movies that make me think, that question or expand my views. I also love a good comedy. My favourite movies are Ninotchka, Die Weisse Rose, The Power of One, Beauty and the Beast, and more. Right now I'm reading 1984 for the second time. Since I'm in school, my reading selection is often choosen for me. My fav books are Infidel, A Woman in Berlin, Sophie Scholl, Treasure Island, Romeo & Juliet, and the Kite Runner. I would like to read Simone de Beauvoir's Second Sex, because she wrote about feminism before it existed, I think she's an interesting character. Music that makes me move, happy, empowered, cry, or think is best for me. I also love most modern bellydance music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Loveparade in Berlin 2001 at the age of 16, it was eye opening for a young prairie girl.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy talking to people about critical thinking, history, and body politics. I teach belly dance on a beginer level and enjoy learning other dances. I love discussing books and philosophy.
