Hi there. I moved to a studio cottage next to Bear Mountain about 3 months ago (very very close to the AT) The house is only one room so you would have to be comfy on the carpeted floor or camp in the woods behind my house. I work 5 days a week at a museum in Manhattan and so during the day you would have the place all to yourself (bed/shower included ;-) )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been traveling and hiking for the past 8 years and getting a full time permanent job 6 months ago has been a big adjustment. Let me live vicariously through you, and your hike on the Appalachian Trail ! Alsooo I have a dog (who is the best dog) named Finley, if you are interested in using my place for a rest-day zone, I would ask you to hang out with him, he is down to hike all day or sleep all day- only thing is he can't be left alone (he is a rescue and is working on getting over bad separation anxiety.)
