Sobre Mim
CURRENT MISSION
making good kinds of trouble wherever I go
ABOUT ME
I come from Cape Town in South Africa with family in Spain so I speak that language too, and become a slightly different, more vivacious person in Spanish. For the last couple of years I have been in Amsterdam, a city I have slowly fallen in love with. I studied performance research, and now comparative literature focussing on queer zines. I have a way of blurring life and work so that at a party I could start scribbling notes frantically ona serviette as something becomes clear to me. I live with my girlfriend in Amsterdam Oost in a neighbourhood with layers of history and lots of leafy squares and gardens.
I am very adaptable and quite hardy. Also kind, loyal, awake, dreamy and curious. I find it very hard to be bored.
PHILOSOPHY
To stop arguing with reality and concentrate instead on making things(books, relationships, projects, protests)

**ANY MOVIE shown at De Nieuwe Anita movie night on mondays makes you feel stoned(in a very good way) even though you're only eating popcorn. If you come to amsterdam i recommend it!!
The other day I saw breakfast at Tiffany's and got ecstatic at the wonderful wonderful dialogue written by Truman Capote. Last night I saw a sci fi film based in Tampere which was very wierd but very perfect for my mood,,movies can be like that sometimes.
Book wise I love especially a tightly woven satisfyingly cast short story. Or one of those books you read until the sun comes back or miss like a cigarette at social ocassions, you'd so much rather be reading than talking.[On my 20th birthday I hid in a cupboard to finish the last chapter of my book before rejoining the party!]
Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
An amazing thing on CS was the spontaneous holiday I had with CS's Andrea, Tommi and Doris and Christian in lapland. We fell into old friendship on first meeting and had the most unbelievable revels together over the course of a week. This easy intimacy and sudden comfort, this allowance to just be and reveal the most boisterous and soft parts of myself was something that will always stay with me as a way it is possible to be with people. I think a zillion barriers dropped since that holiday. Permanently.
