About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get to know and take pictures of as many different places as I can...without spreading myself too thin

ABOUT ME

Sometimes I feel like I can't live life unless I'm on the go, so I love to travel and be active. I like having a snowboard beneath my feet and snow outside my window, but I enjoy the salty air and ocean breeze too.

I'm nothing but adventurous - I'll try nearly any food at least once and wander into the tiniest of towns to see how locals live. There's something fascinating about getting lost in a new place and finding your way home.

Alas, there is a relaxed side to me. In the kitchen, I'll play the part of culinary scientist, flipping eggs and stirring sauces. All the activity and adventure also makes sitting down to talk, read, or watch a movie that much sweeter.

PHILOSOPHY

A good laugh a day keeps the doctor away :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in various countries in Europe and had a GREAT experience doing so! Unfortunately I haven't been able to host...yet!

Interests

Away: Traveling, exercise, snowboarding, photography, adrenaline rushes, hiking, biking, trying/learning new things, skipping rocks on the water, speaking different languages, etc.

At home: Cooking/food/wine/drinks, beatboxing, how the body works (I'm in graduate school for physical therapy), writing snail-mail letters, getting lost in books/movies/TV, etc.

I love strawberries..and eat an insane amount of them. You've probably never met anyone who loves strawberries as much as I do.

Super touristy cities do not always attract me. Nothing beats spending a day exploring side streets and little towns :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Everything from The Beatles, Queen and Bowie to Daft Punk and Justice to Sugarhill Gang and old school hip hop. I listen to a wide variety of music, but mainly I like anything that has a good rhythm.

Movies: Moonrise Kingdom, Django Unchained, Bond movies, but I'll watch just about everything except for horror movies (my imagination is a bit too active afterwards).

Books: Zeitoun and The Gold Finch are some recents.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New Zealand: jumped out of a plane, bungy jumped twice and was among the first people in the world to see the sun rise for a new day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you with cooking (used to be a chef)!..or practicing english/spanish. It's not a very useful skill, but I can teach you to beatbox. Also, I'm a certified snowboard instructor so I'd be happy to teach (if the logistics worked out).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Guadeloupe, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
