Music, Movies, and Books

I like salsa, specially old classics like Ruben Blades, Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe, funky music from disco to Jamiroquai, jazz specially Chet Baker, Thelonius Monk, Django Reinhardt, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and the great Nina Simone. I like flamenco, tango and bolero.

I like Susan Sontag, Muriel Spark, Marguerite Duras, Alfred Hayes, Julio Cortázar, Gabriel García Márquez, Rita Indiana, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowsky. I also love a good science fiction novel like William Gibson´s or James Ballard´s.

I absolutely love cinema. My favorite directors are Ingmar Bergman, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hithcock and Luis Buñuel. I like "Memorias del subdesarrollo", "Solaris", "A woman under the influence", "Santa Sangre" and I also enjoy from time to time a cheesy romantic comedy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been teaching in a high school for adults in a shanty town for the last 4 years and it´s the place where I´ve been putting lots of my energy. Being there makes happy, I like the people, their warmth. All the time I learn from my students. In general they are very brave people.
