ABOUT ME

I am a capable twenty-something with the drive of a sixty-something retiree. But seriously, I only do what I want. School has never been easy for me, I'm a steady B/C student. It has taken me a while to figure out what I want to do and now that I've found it nothing will keep me from it. What is it? That's a long story, ask me about it sometime. I recently got married to a man I met 6 months ago. I love him. I've done a lot, seen a lot, overcome a lot, and I am no where near done. I rarely sum up the details of my life so this is somewhat difficult. I don't like talking on the phone, I prefer to meet a person face to face so I can understand where they are coming from. Email and texting is about the only connection I have to my family. I love them but don't see them enough. Geez, I don't know. If you want to know me I suggest talking to me.

PHILOSOPHY

I try not to philosophize. I believe in live and let live but make sure to learn everything possible along the way.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always have to add this disclaimer when my friends question why I am doing couchsurfing: There is an unspoken rule that you don't hook up with your surfers. Now it is spoken.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to surf but I have met beautiful people from all over the world and had them on my couch. The only bad part I can say is that they have to leave. :)

Interessen

Old things, digging holes, going to Belle Isle, foreign films, funny movies, beautiful people in love with the world, keeping record of life events, traveling (naturally), chillin', good beer, good wine.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Movies: I will watch anything once. I love movies about foreign lands, people that love, complicated plots, intriguing dialog, creative cinematography, anything experimental because I love taking chances.
Music: Talking Heads, Tom Waits, T-Rex, Deathcab for Cutie, Beats Antiq, Portishead, CocoRosie, Dolly Parton, Tracy Chapman, Wyclef Jean, Erykah Badu, Peter Bjorn and John, Pink Floyd, A Tribe Called Quest, Van Morrison, The Velvet Underground, Sigur Ros, etc. Anything but Nickelback and/or anything that resembles it.
Books: H.G. Wells, Kurt Vonnegut, Ian Mcewan

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

A man walking through the cass corridor commentating his every step, as he walked by he said "and he passes a pedestrian." Then I watched a tow-truck driver jumpstart a woman's vehicle and they high-fived with delight. It made me smile.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

hmmm...what can I teach you? People tell me I have an ability to make others feel significant. I believe in giving chances, not just one or two. People change and grow and to miss out on that because of a silly grudge is unfortunate.
