About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as I can before I have to settle down and get a "real" job... Europe is like a giant jigsaw puzzle and every country is another piece or two. Working on putting the whole thing together to get the picture of the history from all the different points of view, to understand and enjoy the differences in all these countries that occupy such a small geographical area but are so, so different.

ABOUT ME

Adventurous, easy going, addicted to travel, itchy feet! In love with the world and the people in it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm pretty new to this, so just exploring the idea. It's a little outside my comfort zone, to be sure! So far I've had one really bad experience and one really great experience, hopefully any future ones will fall in to the latter category!

Interests

Travel, travel, and more travel. I love to get out and see the world, meet new people, experience new cultures and ways of life. The list of places I want to visit is far, far longer than the list of places I've been to- I'm working on fixing that.

I love to sail, ski, ice-skate, rock climb and in my down time can usually be found with my nose in a book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding an Icelandic horse through ice-covered lava fields at sunrise. Seeing the Northern Lights from the window of a plane. Visting Gallipoli in Turkey - as an Australian, so meaningful and so full of history. I was in awe visiting this breath-tankingly beautiful place where so many sacrificed and suffered. Skydiving and paragliding in Canada. Hydro broncing and zipling. Learning to wake board in Thailand. Learning to water-ski in Greece.
In Istanbul watching the sunrise over Asia from a roof-top terrace, then taking the boat across to Asia to watch the sunset over Europe.
Watching the sunset over Venice and the lagoon and islands from the steps of Santa Maria. Watching the sunrise on Christmas morning over the Swiss alps, before a day of skiing. Watching the sun rise over Manhattan.
Watching the sunset on the beach on Koh Tao, Thailand- sand between my toes, a fresh mango shake, live music- perfection (I'm sensing a theme here)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Swiss chocolate

Hopefully some good travel tips for places I've been that they want to go to. Nothing I love more than playing tour guide!

I've been very lucky to have the travel opportunities that I have had, I know that not everyone can do that, and I hope to bring a piece of the world to share what I've been able to experience.
