About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My missions in life are many, since I am at the beginning of my studies I would like to finish them up, preferably doing one year abroad. I am also planning my next long trip, which is probably due in a year and a half. After that I would like to start doing a doctorate in a subject not yet decided, but within the areas of environment, human impact and of course the ocean!
Then there is all other missions like learning Spanish, be less stressed, be nicer, be able to grow my own vegetables, dive more, get a job at the university, move to a warmer country and so on.
The more goals and dreams you have the greater is the chance for more of them to come true!

ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. After graduating high school I bought a backpack and packed my things and went to London to work as an Au-pair. (I make it sound a lot easier than it was, it was a big scary decision to make at the time) I stayed in London in total of a year, after the Au-pair gig, I went and worked in a bar and did some babysitting.
This made me want to travel more, I went back home and saved money for a year. After that I went to south East Asia, starting off with volunteer work in Vietnam, and finished as a Dive Master in Koh Tao 3,5years later. In between I traveled Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Philippines. I also spent a year working and traveling Australia.
During this time I tried many different jobs, everything from stacking timber, waitressing, handing out flyers, gas station, governess, take care of old people, babysitting, divemaster, working the door at a night club in Thailand and so on.
But then it happened, my money finally starting to run out and I turned 25 so I went back home to Sweden, moving in, in my mom’s living room. Got myself a job at Scania, doing all sorts of things. The vague plan was to save money and become a diving instructor, but somewhere on the way I ended up applying for university and manage to fall in love. Two years later I find myself in a student apartment with my boyfriend Micke, finished my first year of university as a biology student, after spending a crazy 10 months reading math, biology, chemistry and physics on high school levels, while working.
Now I am working as a carer for a boy with special needs alongside with my studies. My interests is the ocean and environmental impact.

Micke, my boyfriend with whom I will be traveling with most of the time, is working as a Design engineer at Scania. And that’s not how we met, he started there after I quit, we got to know each other at the age of 18, but have since done different things in different parts of the world! I went on traveling while Micke did military service in north of Sweden (COLD!!), and then went on studying in Linköping. We met up after I got back home, and all of a sudden we were a couple.
Micke plays the guitar, writes and mix music and have just, to my joy, taken up diving.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to host together with an ex boyfriend in Thailand, unfortunately for me, most of the hosting went through his profile! I also surfed a few times while traveling.

When surfing rather than staying at a hotel/hostel you get a chance have completely different experiences, meeting new friends and get some inside information about the city/country in question.
When hosting you get a chance to meet people from all over the world, without traveling! And You get to share some of your own insights about places to visit and things to do in your hometown.

Music, Movies, and Books

All my life I have preferred books to movies/TV shows. I had a book with wherever I’d go. But since starting my studies again I’ve stopped reading, I find that if I have a good book I don’t have the strength to put it away and pick up my course book instead! My favourites are crime novels or biography’s. Since starting working nightshift, which mean to sit quiet in the dark all night I’ve starting watching TV-series. I watch pretty much anything to stay awake!
