About Me

Artistic girl from Finland, I live with my samoyed Ruka in Kankaanpää, Finland. In my freetime I like to draw, paint, watch movies and musicals, cook, dance, go to gigs and sing karaoke. I don't smoke.

I have travelled quite a lot and like to explore. I like old cities, history and culture, also everyday-life of normal people from all over the world fascinates me. I'm not a fussy person, I like to improvise!

I'm a pagan, so nature and cultural heritage is important for me, I also like all things folk. I feel that I'm still about to find much more about myself with time.

people around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love adventures and the best way to learn about new countries and cultures is by making a local friend. I like sharing good stories and learning new things! I'm outgoing and social and get along with people.
I hate fake people and consider myself honest and straight in my opinions and life.

Interests

Arts (mainly oil painting at the moment), paganism, theatre, nature, history, outdoors, animals, movies, beauty and modeling, heavy metal and folk music! And I love to dance! I also occasionally go to the gym, but that has never been "the thing" for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nightwish, Five finger death punch, Children of bodom, Lordi, Sonata Arctica, Hedningarna, In this Moment, Halestorm, Lullacry, Maldita, Värttinä, Pohjanaula, Watership Down, Lord of the Rings, Napapiirin sankarit, Mielensäpahoittaja, The rocky horror picture show, Addams Family, The Crow, Apocalypto...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a rowing boat trip with my friend; spent 3 days rowing from one lake to another, fishing for food and even carrying the boat (not a canoe, but a huge heavy rowing boat) over a small mill into the next lake. We set our camp to Hautasaari ('Grave island') for one night and that was one of the creepiest things ever. Also went to see an Iron age 'hill castle' on our route and let our imagination fly free thinking how it was to live there back then. Amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

-Finnish in most of it's forms :D can teach some traditions, songs, food (the world-famous finnish cuisine moulded by harsh conditions, wars and starvation, what's there not to love?!)
-Painting, drawing - I got the equipment and skill for this so if you're into it, I can teach :)
-Nature; I'm up for hikes and breath taking experiences!
-Sauna!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good laughs, deep conversations, my finnish heritage; culture, food, music, experiences. I can draw a portrait of you as a memory of my stay, and teach you some drawing techniques :) I can also bring you salmiakki, karjalanpiirakka or other finnish curiosities if you would like! :D

And surely, if my dear hosts would like to visit Finland, they are warmly welcome to stay with me and my dog Ruka (samoyed) :)
