Why I’m on Couchsurfing
From living in Portland for six years, I've hosted lots of friends, friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends. As I mentioned above, I'll soon be going on a trip of my own and am looking to be on the other side of traveling, seeing a new place, and meeting new people.
One of my cousins in the huge family I'm part of looked up our ancestral history. What he found is our ancestors were pirates. They ended up in the Philippines and changed their last name to Abubo to hide. We figure that's why everyone in our family loves to travel. So, pretty much because I love to travel and want to support anyone else that loves to travel also.
Interests
The Beatles, extended stays in the outdoors, cinema, unusual or old architecture, dining out, flowers, farming, flower farming, gardens, conservatories, converted homes, going on walks, plants, making things, seeing new cities, cinema, design, film photography, vintage or antique anything, traveling, fashion, among many other things.
My most recent hobby has been bouldering. I've only done it inside at a gym and would love to climb outdoors this summer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Spirit of the Beehive, Jane B by Agnes V, The Shining, Badlands, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Kill Bill, to name a few films. I like old films, mostly from the 70s. I enjoy work from Agnes Varda, Kubrick, Godard, Tarantino, P. T. Anderson, and many others.
Right now I'm listening to Chances With Wolves (it's an episodical radio show). I like music from the 60s and 70s, like The Beatles, Kinks, Velvet Underground, Francoise Hardy, France Gall, and the like. Early rock and roll type and french and foreign stuff. But as cliche as it sounds, I listen to a lot of everything.
I haven't been reading a lot. The last thing I was reading was Shout! by Philip Norman and the beginning Cosmos by Carl Sagan. I've read a lot of feminist theory, because I studied it in university.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in the mountains for a month photographing people making a feature length film.
Countries I’ve Visited
Denmark, Germany, Philippines, United States
