Reduce food insecurity in the elderly population in Athens, ga by collecting and redistributing spoils from grocery stores to grandparents raising grandchildren with Campus Kitchen UGA

ABOUT ME

I am an undergrad horticulture student at the University of Georgia, USA; also pursuing an organic agriculture certificate. I worked at an experimental garden on campus where we trial perennials and annuals for large companies to collect and store data from year to year in the Southeastern region of the US. I also worked at an herb and perennial nursery on the weekends. I enjoy ornamental gardening in containers and have some experience with small scale vegetable gardening. I enjoy cooking and baking and eating as many vegetables and fruits and homemade meals as possible. I don't smoke but I don't mind being around respectful smokers. I am interested in buddhist teachings of compassion, acceptance, and meditation. I daily challenge myself to "be here now," to open my heart and my mind, to be happy and healthy and whole.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am available for a cup of coffee :) I am usually on or around campus if surfers would like to become better acquainted with the experimental gardens on campus or the general area!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few surfers, mostly by way of my wonderfully generous and kind roommates participation on courchsurfing.com. I have also surfed one couch in New mexico and meet up with a rideshare partner who I traveled with from Albuqurque, NM to SanFrancisco, CA. I met some amazingly generous couchsurfing hosts in New Zealand this past year and I aim to be as helpful and kind to travelers as they were to me :)
