Overview
About Me
My name is Andrés Sarmiento, I'm from Bogotá and I'm 25 years old, I'm an industrial engineering student but currently I'm working as a media analyst, what inspires to me is knowing the most I can of everything around me and knowing how to take advantage of those things. My purpose in my life is to be happy and make people's lifes happier and easier thanks to my labour. Traveling for me is knowing something useful about our world, is looking at wonderful landscapes, is dealing with a different culture and history I'm not used to being with, is extending my comfort zone and doing things that in my routine I don't do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here because I think the best way to know a place is staying with someone used to living in a place, someone who knows about a place, its costumes, its behaviours, its touristic places, its history, someone you can trust and you can ask everything about that new place for you.
Interests
I think the best way to know a place is walking around it, so I like to do that, I like listening to music, I'm happy riding bike, also reading books and going to libraries, I like to go out with friends and talking to them. Also I like to go to museums to know about art and history and to go to parks and breath some air.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like rock, specifically psychedelic and grunge, I feel comfortable listing to 70's-90's rock, also I enjoy listening salsa, country, ska, I like listening to (almost) everything. I like Chaplin's and Fellini's movies, they're awesome. And my favorite author is Isaac Asimov, I like reading sci-fi, and also I like to read about middle ages.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling around Colombia, in a country with huge variety between its regions you extend your comfort zone, once I went from Villavicencio to Pasto, from the "Llanos Orientales" to the "Galeras", between those cities are Bogotá, the capital, Ibagué, Cali and its salsa, Popayan and its churches and architecture until I reached Pasto, a surprising city.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm ready to learn about everything, not only a specific fact or knowledge, everything that I can learn from everybody may be useful for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
