About Me

[COVID-19 UPDATE: I am sorry but I won’t be able to host or meet travelers until the pandemic is subdued. there are people around me belonging to risk groups and I just can’t leave it to chance.

For those visiting Iceland I want to wish you a pleasant journey :), the situation here has become quite stable and the risk of contagion by locals is low, however a 2-meter social distance rule is still in effect, as well as hand hygiene. Please bear in mind that if you take the test at the airport you will need to stay in complete isolation until after next day when you receive the results in the app. Travel safely and respect social distancing and you will have a nice time :).]

CURRENT MISSION

"I must be the change I wish to see in the world".

ABOUT ME

Well, I feel passionate about life, about the world, about people.

I'm an ever wanderer, music and forest lover. Art in any of its forms is what I think makes this world vibrant. I'm very much into vegetarian and vegan foods, herbology and overall plant-based health remedies and diets, always longing to learn new recipes and widen my knowledge about them.

I am also fully committed to bettering myself as a human being and spend much of my time reading books about psychology, emotional intelligence and resilience.

I am an environmentalist at heart, so I recycle, bike to work and try to live the closest to a zero-waste existence as possible. However, I have also learned that each one of us has to figure things out for ourselves and that change has to be desired (not imposed) for it to actually happen, so do not fear, I wont preach.

Other topics I enjoy reading/talking about are: linguistics, politics, feminism, economics, biology, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

I think there is a lot to learn from the world around you if you are open to it. I am a fan of storytelling in general and like to listen attentively and with an open mind.

I am trying to re-connect with my inner child and be as authentic and genuine as I can be even when it is difficult and inconvenient, cuz what is it if not living in the moment, and being truthful to yourself the most important reason to be?

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"

I am a dreamer (an assertive one) and believe that things can be changed for the better if enough is done about it, quote "I love those who yearn for the impossible".

Regarding education, I have been on the „humanities“ side of the spectrum most of my life. I am currently finishing my BA in Literature and Linguistics but I am also interested in natural sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Psychology, etc) and social sciences (Economics, Sociology, etc.) so I will be thrilled if you have anything to teach me about these topics 😊.

I believe that we all belong to a big human family and that we all deserve to live a decent life and have equal opportunities to develop ourselves and become the best versions of ourselves. I really do not care for people that defend discrimination based on nationality/appearance/sexual identity or of any kind really. So please stay away if you disagree.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really don't know what to say. I'm pretty much into everything as long as it's interesting, it inspires me or puts my brain to work reflecting on existence . Although, in musical terms,I must admit that I have a special interest on traditional/folk music from the countries I visit since it's like an open book to their history and understanding of the world :).
