About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to meet and interact with people all over the world!

ABOUT ME

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by other countries, cultures, and languages. As a teenager, I was a "ham radio" operator (amateur radio) and talked to people from all over the world (KD6SXF) I still have my license. I had pen pals in several countries as well. When I became an adult, it was natural for me to want to travel. I am glad I was able to travel and live abroad. Of course, I still travel and there are so many places I want to visit. There are so many people I want to meet!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that people are naturally good. I love meeting people from different places as these wonderful people help me to see things from a new perspective. I am fascinated by foreign languages and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My son and I can host 1 person now. You can sleep on the living room couch. We can provide transportation. We can share the cost of food.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not couchsurfed yet, but hope to do so one day. I recently hosted my first surfer, a very nice guy from Israel. It was a great experience and now I look forward to hosting others.

Since then, I have hosted some other "couchsurfers." These have all been wonderful experiences. I am indeed sold on the "couchsurfing" model. Thank you Couchsurfing!

Interests

Of course, I love to travel and meet people from different countries and backgrounds. I am also interested in Yoga. I love languages and linguistics. I like computers. I like to watch movies, listen to music, and read books, and go on hikes or walks. I also like ham radio (amateur radio). My call sign is KD6SXF.

Music, Movies, and Books

I liked "Forrest Gump"; "Being There";"American Beauty"; "Rain Man"; "Crash"; and so many others. I like just about anything, from adventure to drama to comedy to fantasy and science fiction. Perhaps the only genre I don't like are "Westerns." The same goes for music; I like just about anything except for "Country-Western."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really liked hiking an active volcano in El Salvador. I also enjoyed snorkeling in the "Bay Islands" of Honduras. It is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, one of the world's largest coral reefs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about ham radio.

My amateur radio call sign is KD6SXF.
