I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in music composition here in Vancouver. I grew up in Malaysia (great place if you ever visit!) and did my undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon in a lovely little town called Eugene. I'm a low-key person, I enjoy getting to know people and cooking. Oh and eating. I love eating. Kinda small, kinda quirky. Will definitely fit on a couch!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's an experience that's different from a hostel/ airbnb/ hotel (haven't been in one in ages!) It's a great way to travel, meet the locals and get to know the city. Genuinely interested in getting to know people, so if you have the time, I'd love to hang with you too!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'd like to think I have a pretty broad taste in music but Spotify might prove me wrong. I generally listen to indie-pop, oldies, some avant garde stuff and soundtracks. God i love a good soundtrack.
My favourite books are often biographies about composers/ artists. I just find lives of people really interesting. Otherwise a good cookbook or something related to food is enough to keep me entertained.
I really like pixar/disney animated movies and um LOTR all the way!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

it's a small deal to some but.. I planted some kai lan (chinese kale, i believe) over summer and it sprouted!
In all honesty, probably chatting with random strangers on the bus and seeing them smile. I've noticed we don't do that much here, it should happen more often!
