About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be the best I can be and never stop learning. And have fun in the process!
ABOUT ME
I am a lively and engaging person. I try to keep informed about what's going on in the world so that I can have a conversation on many topics without feeling like a moron - or at least that's what I like to think;) I know what I'm worth but I don't take myself too seriously and can make fun of myself too, usually with a slightly sarcastic type of humour. I have a thirst for learning about new things and places, for example to know the history of the places that I'm visiting. I also have a genuine curiosity about the people that I meet, and I'm easy to talk to. Occasionally I can be very impatient and have somewhat of a temper, but when travelling, I'm always relaxed and super-chill, so no need to worry;)I am fortunate enough to live in a city where you encounter people literally from all continents except Antarctica, which is not only interesting, but also eye-opening and it creates more empathy.
PHILOSOPHY
Truth is usually in the middle. No one was born as a know-it-all and there's no shame in admitting a mistake and trying to learn from it. Also, when we start to think that we are 100% right about something, that's usually the time to revisit our stance. On a personal level, while I'm pulled in different and sometimes unhealthy or contradictory directions like everyone else, I try to take a step back and find a middle ground.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I good friend of mine is a big ambassador for couch-surfing, and he got me interested. I gotta say that I can't imagine hosting a complete stranger in my place, the same way that I would not want to impose on anyone who's not a friend and stay at their place. But travelling is always much more cool if you can hang out with someone local. That really appeals to me, both in showing someone around Toronto or meeting some interesting folks overseas.
Interests
As far as hobbies and free time, I like hanging out with friends - going to have a dinner, see a movie, meet for a coffee, that kind of thing. I also like museums and sometimes even lectures, if they are not too boring. I am definitely past going to clubs and partying like crazy - much rather I'd go to a nice lounge or to a neighborhood pub. I also like football and I'm a big fan of Slovakia's national team, although the guys have been kind of disapponting lately. I don't have the chance to get out into free nature very often, but whenever I do, it's always amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Not a big music buff. I like old-school R'n'B, some classic rock, some contemporary pop and R'n'B. Guess Beyoncé will have to do!;)
Movies - usually outside the mainstream Hollywood production so that they open a window onto lives in places different than my own. Also I'm big on historical adventure movies. And occasionally a rom-com.
Books - historical novels, well-written books with a strong story, even better if set against interesting era or geographic location.
