I'm really interesting in cross-culture processes and opportunity to communicate with each other, not only share my opinions and visions, but also get to know the world of my interlocutor.

Interests

Hello! My name is Sasha Chaika, I’m from Russia, St. Petersburg, I'm an artist from Russia. Originally I engaged in music, studied in the College of Music, played the trumpet in the symphony orchestra. But already in the second year, I realized that this is not something that I can give 100% of myself.
Visual contemporary arts is much closer to me. I graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Sciences at the St. Petersburg State University (Smolny) in 2017 and today works as an art and fashion freelance photographer and art-director . Also I make films and music (plan to do miltimedia performances with body performances). I collaborated with such magazines like DAZED, L'Officiel Hommes, Refigural, Bad To The Bone, Gruppe. Also I participated in the 5th Moscow International Biennial for Young Art in 2016, and this year took a part of Young Photography from Eastern Europe exhibition in Berlin gallery EEP.
I am interested in synthesis of fashion and contemporary art, capturing industrial architecture, and trying to express authentic mood in photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

The important component for me in art (in music too) is individuality, so I really like contemporary experimental artists like Abyss X, GFOTY, A. G. Cook, Chai-t, No Bra, Nurse Stockings, Arca. In Russia we have some artist developing their own direction like MAX 100PERCENT, IC3PEAK, RATMIR VANBUUREN TARUTS. Recently we made an promo group and a party for development of such a individual and contemporary artists called CA (Chromatic Aberration). For this event we invited one more one of my fav artists now - Virgen Maria.

Actually I don't really often watching movies, but I like Gregg Araki,Gaspar Noe, Alain Robbe-Grillet and Mike Figgis.
